Labs workers join Siebel
The Siebel Institute of Technology has announced the
addition of Chris White and Lisa White to the Siebel Institute faculty.
Chris White holds an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry
from the University of California, San Diego, as well as a B.S. in
Biochemistry from The University of California, Davis. White is a
lecturer in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at the University
of California, San Diego, and is a member of the American Society for
Brewing Chemists and the Master Brewers Association of America. Chris
founded White Labs in 1995, in order to manufacture and supply yeast to
the growing American brewing industry. Chris White is president of White
Labs Inc.
"I’m excited to join the faculty of the Siebel
Institute," White said. "Siebel is concentrated exclusively on
brewer education, with a long tradition of excellence. Many of the
brewers I work with have received their education at Siebel. I look
forward to contributing to the quality education at Siebel
Institute."
Lisa White holds a B.S. in Cell Biology from the
University of California, Davis, and conducted Post Graduate Studies at
University of California, San Diego. Lisa received the American Society
of Hematology Scholarship Award in 1995, and conducted research in cell
division and protein-protein interactions at the Komives Laboratory in
the University of California, San Diego. Lisa is the Laboratory Director
for White Labs Inc., where she oversees production of 40-50 yeast
strains, conducts quality control process and testing, performs
laboratory testing of beer and wine samples, and conducts new product
development. She also maintains the yeast bank library at White Labs,
and provides technical support for customer inquires. She is a member of
the American Society for Brewing Chemists.
Chris and Lisa White will be in Chicago as part of
the fall 2002 Siebel Institute of Technology & World Brewing Academy
educational season.
