JULY 2003
The BrewMaster Game was the subject of a review in the strategy game
magazine "Fire & Movement." Reviewer Greg J. Schloesser said he went
into the game with low expectations, given that he was not a fan of beer
or brewing. "Sometimes life is filled with
little surprises. This was one of those times. Not only did (my gaming
group) enjoy the game, but I did, too! In fact, we enjoyed it so much we
played it again later that weekend. I was so surprised that I subsequently
taught the game to various other groups, including my wife's parents, and
everyone had a wonderful time playing."
JUNE 2003
BrewMaster was featured at the Origins
game show, June 26-29, 2003 in Columbus. Ohio, at booth #541. Tournaments
were held each day at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m.,
and 7 p.m. In a possible first
of-its-kind competition, the last game of each day was played at a
brewery across the street from the convention center. Players in
this special "Pub Crawl Prize Session" competed for coupons
that they could cash in for food and/or drinks.

SEPTEMBER 2001
Unveiled the BrewMaster Game at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Colorado.
GAME HISTORY
The game was designed by twin brothers Chris White and
Mike White. Chris is the founder and president of White
Labs, a yeast manufacturing company
serving the beer and wine industries. His career spans an era
commonly regarded as the renaissance of great beer in the United States. Mike is a journalist and beer fan.
Mike and Chris tested the
game with beer and non-beer fans at pubs, airports and beer festivals across the country.
Brewers made sure the ingredient cards reflected reality, while others
just made sure the game was fun. It was difficult to tell who had a better
time -- the beer
experts, or their friends who knew little or nothing about
beer, at least when the games began.
The testing process included a thorough mathematical
analysis. Mathematician and professor Gregory Leibon played more than 1
million games via computer. The results proved that, yes, Belgians
are by far the most difficult beer to brew.
